San Francisco-based mystery author Cara Black will be at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St. in Davis, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, to discuss her series of Paris-based mysteries.

Black is the author of the nationally bestselling and award-winning Aimée Leduc mysteries. Her books have been translated into five languages and she has been nominated for the Anthony Award for Best Novel.

Her newest novel, “Murder Below Montparnasse,” published earlier this year, is the 13th book in the series that Alan Furst described as “transcendently, seductively, irresistibly French.”

Black frequents a Paris that is not well known by tourists. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, a bookseller, and their teenage son. She is a San Francisco Library Laureate and a member of the Paris Sociéte Historique in the Marais.
