NAMI support group for Spanish speakers meets July 13

NAMI-Yolo, a chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness, sponsors an ongoing support group in Spanish for those who care for a family member or friend living with a psychiatric disorder.

The group provides Yolo County families with a secure and friendly environment for sharing experiences, problem-solving strategies and information about mental illness, including topics such as stress, anxiety, addiction, depression, schizophrenia and others.

All sessions are led by trained NAMI volunteers who themselves know what it is like to have a relative or friend with a mental disorder.

The Spanish support group meets the second Friday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Yolo Family Resource Center, 828 Court St. Woodland. The next meeting is Friday. To confirm the date, call the group’s leaders: Amparo at (530) 662-2274 or Catalina at (530) 383-9621. For more information about NAMI-Yolo, visit www.namiyolo.org or call (530) 756-8181.
