‘No weirdos, just music’ on ‘Davisville’

By From page A4 | June 11, 2014

In May, on a bulletin board at Armadillo Music, Sonja Martin posted a flier that said “Punk rock grunge band members wanted. No pervs. Weirdos. Harddrugaddicts. Scumbags. JUST MUSIC.”

The language was clear, direct, funny in places, opinionated and expressed a commitment to serious music. The current edition of “Davisville” tells more of Martin’s story, and includes a performance of one of her songs in progress, “I Breathe You In.”

“Davisville,” hosted by Bill Buchanan, airs on KDRT, 95.7 FM, at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays and 7:30 a.m. Saturdays. The interview with Martin debuted Monday and will be broadcast through June 21. It is also available online at http://kdrt.org/davisville.
