The city of Davis is accepting nominations for the 19th annual Environmental Recognition Award. This award recognizes outstanding efforts to improve the environmental quality of life in and around Davis. There are three categories: individual/group, business and nonprofit organization.

Last year’s award recipients were Gene Trapp and Joe Ellen Ryan in the individual/group category, Caffé Italia in the business category and the Davis Cemetery District in the nonprofit category.

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 8, and the winners will be selected at the February meeting of the Davis Natural Resources Commission. The City Council will present awards to the 2013 recipients in April.

A nomination flier is available on the city website, www.cityofdavis.org; at City Hall, 23 Russell Blvd.; at the Public Works Department, 1717 Fifth St.; or from Dani Hester at 530-757-5686.
