Nonviolent activism is topic for Jewish Quaker

Maxine Kaufman-Lacusta, a Jewish Quaker, will speak on nonviolent activism as applied to the Palestinian and Israeli situation when she visits Davis on Sunday. Her talk will begin at 7 p.m. at the Davis Friends Meeting House, 345 L St.

Kaufman-Lacusta is a co-author of the book “Refusing to Be Enemies: Palestinian and Israeli Nonviolent Resistance to the Israeli Occupation.” She lived in Jerusalem for seven years and has written widely on this and related topics. Copies of her book will be available for $15.
