Parents can learn all about IEPs

Pole Line Road Baptist Church, 770 Pole Line Road in Davis, will host a free special event for parents of students with Individual Education Plans.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m., Katie Schaefer, an experienced special education teacher, will discuss parents’ rights in the IEP process, tips for parents during IEP meetings and reading strategies that parents can use at home with their child. There will be time at the end of the session for parents to ask any specific questions related to special education.

Schaefer is a K-8 resource specialist in the Redding area and a California licensed teacher.
