Patient discusses proton treatment for prostate cancer

By From page A3 | August 06, 2014

Chuck Mintz, who underwent proton beam treatment for prostate cancer at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California, will discuss his experiences and prognosis when the Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group meets on Monday, Aug. 11.

Proton therapy is more precise than conventional radiation therapy, and thereby minimizes damage to healthy tissue surrounding tumor sites.

Interested men, their family members and friends are invited to attend the 7 p.m. meeting at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. Admission is free.
