Patwin work party set Saturday

The grounds of Patwin Elementary School will get a facelift thanks in large part to a grant from the Rotary Club of Davis. The $1,500 grant will pay for new plants, mulch and a “beautiful green bench,” according to school librarian Wendy Chason, who applied for the funds.

Patwin families and community members are invited to a work party from 8:30 to about noon Saturday at the school, 2222 Shasta Drive in West Davis.

Chason has been busy over the past week picking out drought-resistant and native shrubs to plant around the main part of the school.

“The bench will be a nice large one in a shady area for all of our students to enjoy,” she said.
