PG&E notified customers Friday near Olive Drive, Second Street and L Street about plans to vent natural gas from a section of pipe in the area.
As workers vent the pipe through Sunday, the smell of natural gas and the sound of it venting from the pipe may be noticeable to homes and businesses in the area, depending on wind direction. The natural gas will dissipate quickly into the atmosphere and will not be harmful, according to a news release.
Anyone who has concerns about natural gas odors in or around their home or business can call PG&E at 800-743-5000, so the company can determine the specific cause. Service to customers will not be interrupted during this work.
