Practical gifts sought for the needy
The Mission Alliance Networking Nonprofit Agencies, MANNA , is asking community members to help fill its “wish list” for the holiday season, supplying needy clients with something useful as their holiday gift.
Needed items include socks. sweatshirts, pants, knit hats, warm jackets, rain gear, gloves, robes, slippers, hygiene supplies, mugs and tea, small alarm clocks, DVDs (PG-13, PG or G), Christmas candy, snacks (pretzels, potato chips, etc.) and new or gently used linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, pillow cases and blankets). In addition, $5 to $10 gift certificates to Grocery Outlet, Dollar Tree, CVS/pharmacy would be welcome.
“Please check around your home to see if you have any of these items that you aren’t using,” a news release said. “If your family would like to give a helping hand to someone less fortunate, you might wish to purchase some of the items.”
Donations may be dropped off at the Davis Community Church office, 412 C St. in downtown Davis.
