Pre-Thanksgiving market fills holiday needs

By From page A3 | November 24, 2013

Stock up on everything you need for your Thanksgiving table — except the turkey — at the pre-Thanksgiving Davis Farmers Market, which runs from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Central Park, Fourth and C streets in downtown Davis.

Dozens of farmers, bakers and crafters fill the market with organic produce, farm-fresh fall fruits and vegetables, local eggs and honey, cheese, wine, dried fruit and nuts, cheese, bread, pies and baked goods, table decorations and more.

Looking for hostess gift ideas? Market shopping baskets, aprons, mugs, T-shirts and totes and “The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook” are perfect for food and farmers market lovers. The spiral-bound edition of the cookbook is kitchen-friendly and costs $20, including tax.

From 1 to 4 p.m., the Regal Beezers will perform jazz standards and more at the market shed.
