‘Refusing to be Enemies’ author will speak in Davis

Maxine Kaufman-Lacusta, author of “Refusing to be Enemies: Palestinian and Israeli Nonviolent Resistance to the Israeli Occupation” (Ithaca Press, 2010), will speak at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 21, in Davis. Her free talk, which is open to the public, will be at the Davis Friends Meeting House, 345 L St.

Kaufman-Lacusta lived in Jerusalem for seven years and has written widely on Palestinian and Israeli nonviolent activism and related topics. Her book is a compilation of contributions by well-known scholars and activists.

Copies of her book will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.
