Relay for Life organizers plan kickoff event

The Woodland Relay for Life will hold its 2014 kickoff event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, behind Pete’s Brewhouse in the St. John’s Retirement Village parking lot.

Twenty percent of the sales at Pete’s during that time period will be donated to the Woodland Relay for Life. There will be team registration, survivor registration and fundraising tables, including Walmart, Team Sheila, The Fighting Knights and Block Out Cancer.

Music by Lee Millhouse and others will be complemented by face-painting by Teddy Grijalva, balloons and games.

Relay for Life is a 24-hour walkathon for the American Cancer Society to raise money for research.
