Saving Explorit, on ‘Davisville’

By From page A3 | January 08, 2014

Lars Anderson, board president and interim executive director of Explorit Science Center, discusses how the Davis nonprofit plans to recover financially on the current edition of “Davisville.”

Explorit’s board realized in 2013 that it would have to close this winter if it did not solve financial problems that dated back to the start of the Great Recession in 2008. Last month, the city gave Explorit $20,000 for utilities and maintenance this year, but the center plans to raise a far larger sum via other sources and strategies.

“Davisville,” hosted by Bill Buchanan, airs on KDRT, 95.7 FM, at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays and 7:30 a.m. Saturdays. The interview with Anderson debuted Monday and will be broadcast through Jan. 18. It is also available online at http://kdrt.org/node/13601.
