There are still about a dozen seats available for the Yolo County Historical Society trip to historic Folsom.

The Amador Stage Lines bus departs from the parking lot just west of Veteran’s Memorial, near 14th and B streets, at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, April 27. The bus will return around 4:15 p.m. Contact trip leader Dennis Dingemans at 530-753-5959 about reserving a place for $40.

The group will tour the historic house and six-church district on the downtown hills; enter the granite gate of Folsom Prison and its museum within the walls; spend an hour in the city’s museum on downtown’s Sutter Street; tour the 1856 railroad station area; visit the 1895 hydroelectric power house; observe surviving “Folsom Potato” fields of river stones unearthed during 60 years of gold dredging; and return by way of Intel and other high-tech enterprises that followed a century after Folsom’s first ambitious business parks.
