Shambhala hosts improv workshop for kids

By From page A12 | October 25, 2012

The Davis Shambhala Meditation Center will host an improvisational theater workshop for children on Sunday, Nov. 4, taught by Lee Meddin. All participants will meet at the center, 133 D St., at 8:45 a.m. to get acquainted. At 9 a.m. there will be morning chants and a few minutes of silent meditation.

Then, workshop participants will walk together to Central Park, rain or shine, for the workshop. It’s a chance to be silly while experiencing some ways that Buddhism and improvisation intersect: enjoying the present moment, responding naturally to whatever arises and becoming more comfortable with uncertainty. Participants will return to the center soon after 10 a.m.

Child care and other programs are offered at this same time every Sunday. For more information, call Barbara West at 530-753-2868.
