Snuggle up with Project Linus next week

By From page A7 | October 04, 2012

Project Linus of Yolo County’s monthly gathering is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.

Volunteers make and distribute gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans created to provide love, warmth and security to needy children. The meeting will focus on sewing Linus labels on handmade blankets made by volunteers.

Blankets go to organizations in Yolo County that serve children in need. The Davis chapter made and donated more than 1,200 blankets in year 2011.

New fabric and yarn are available every month to pick up and take home for making blankets. There is a large selection of fabrics, made possible by a recent donation. Also, quilt packages are available with material cut up for a specific pattern.

Bring finished blankets to the next gathering or drop them off at Diane McGee’s house. For drop-off location, fabric or yarn donations or other information, contact McGee at [email protected] or 530-753-3436.
