Soup secrets shared at city class

By From page A5 | February 08, 2013

Local residents are invited to learn how to prepare soups to comfort and warm them through the last months of winter with instructor Sarah Clanton, who has been cooking professionally for 25 years and strives to teach the home-cooked “secrets” she’s learned.

Clanton will teach participants how to make some of her favorites such as vegan “creamy” butternut, ginger and pear soup; vegan “creamy” wild mushroom soup; chicken, vegetable and handmade noodle soup; and fish, potato and red pepper chowder.

The class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St. The cost is $45. Register at the city of Davis Community Services office, 600 A St., Suite C, or online at www.cityofdavis.org. For information, call 530-757-5626.
