“Entering the Healing Ground — Grief, Ritual and the Soul of the World,” a new book by Francis Weller, will be showcased during the author’s appearance at The Avid Reader at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4. Joining Weller will be Doug von Koss, founder of the Noah Project.
Weller, a marriage and family therapist, and Koss will present a new vision of the vitality of grief uncovered, as grief is understood as a doorway to healing. Grief, like laughter, is meant to be shared communally, a news release announcing their appearance says.
The pair also will speak from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis. A daylong workshop on “The Sacred Work of Grief” will follow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.
