STEAC needs canned fruit donations

By From page A10 | June 20, 2014

In conjunction with the Short-Term Emergency Aid Committee, the Davis Food Co-op is accepting donations of canned fruit during June. STEAC operates a food pantry for folks who are in need, and the Co-op is helping out with donation needs that are not the usual, such as canned tuna, peanut butter and beans.

While STEAC receives lots of applesauce donations, it rarely receives other kinds of canned fruit, and would appreciate Co-op shoppers’ help in building up a good stock. Unfortunately, STEAC cannot accept home-canned fruit.

Donations may be dropped off at the Co-op at 620 G St. between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, contact Julie Cross at [email protected] or 530-758-2667.
