STEAC needs more volunteers

By From page A10 | July 30, 2013

The Short-Term Emergency Aid Committee is seeking volunteers to work shifts in the food closet.

Potential volunteers will go through a short training and are asked to commit to at least one — preferably two — shifts per month, of an hour and a half each, during regular closet hours Mondays through Fridays.

The STEAC Food Closet, which has been operating for nearly 40 years and has served  thousands of the low-income and homeless people in the community, is located at Fifth and D streets.

Those interested in volunteering are asked to call the STEAC office at 530-758-8435 or send an email to [email protected].
