The Valley Oak Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

A Southwestern study box from the national organization will be there, showing six kinds of Southwestern embroidery. Colcha embroidery and Hopi embroidery can be tried by those who wish; bring a sharp needle with a large eye, scissors and embroidery hoop. Some ground fabric and Persian threads will be available, or bring your own.

For more information, call Diane Moore at 530-756-0380.
