Student welcome luncheon set at DCC

By From page A3 | October 01, 2013

Davis Community Church extends a special welcome to new and returning college students to attend a free community meal at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the church Fellowship Hall, 421 D St.

The meal is offered on the first Sunday of each month. This month, students will receive small gift bags and information about worship and service opportunities in the church and the larger community.

DCC is Davis’ oldest Protestant congregation, known as a theologically progressive congregation with a passion for social justice. All are welcome at DCC — lifelong Christians, those who are new to Christianity or those who are just curious.

Services are at 8:30 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (alternative with communion). Oct. 6 is the day of World Communion and Peacemaking Sunday, a celebration of peace, sharing and abundance.
