Tai chi classes offered at Senior Center

By From page A4 | September 29, 2013

Tai chi will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Davis Senior Center, beginning this week. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome to sign up.

Instructor Daniel Pfister has spent more than 20 years practicing and teaching martial arts, including time spent in China and Taiwan.

Tai chi emphasizes meditative movements to help develop a strong, flexible body that is alert and responsive to one’s environment. Tai chi’s movements are practiced slow and relaxed to better allow the mind to learn how to coordinate the entire body.

To register, call the Senior Center at 530-757-5626 or stop by the city’s Community Services Office at 600 A St., Suite C. For more information, contact Pfister at 530-574-3684 or [email protected].
