The Superfund Research Program at UC Davis will host a viewing of the recently released HBO documentary, “Toxic Hot Seat,” at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, in 3001 Plant and Environmental Sciences Building on the UCD campus.

“Toxic Hot Seat” tells the story of a growing tide of activists, journalists and citizens groups that are raising awareness of the dangers of flame-retardant chemicals in furniture and the environment.

“These chemicals are linked to lower IQ in children, thyroid disease, infertility, cancer and other rising rates of health problems,” a news release said. “They are found in every living being on Earth.”
