The Woodland Community College Cross Cultural Series presents Carlos Jackson, author of “Chicana and Chicano Art: Protest Arte,” from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24. He’ll speak in the community room of Building 800 at WCC, 2300 E. Gibson Road.
Jackson, assistant professor of the Chicana/o studies department at UC Davis, will discuss his book and give insight into the history of Chicana and Chicano art. His book traces Chicana and Chicano visual art from its beginnings to the 1960s and then follows the growth to present-day themes, artists and cultural impacts.
