“Sexual Politics in French Cinema” is the title of the next “Brainfood Talk” series lecture, by UC Davis professor Liz Constable. She will speak from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the UC Davis Conference Center. Admission is free and no pre-registration is required.
Constable teaches and writes about film theory with a focus on a feminist perspective. In her presentation, she will discuss the current as well as earlier arguments among the critics about sexuality and the cinema. She will use the work of contemporary French film directors as one means of gaining a perspective on sex and sexuality in the movies.
The “Brainfood Talk” series is sponsored by the UC Davis Emeriti Association and the UC Davis Retirees’ Association. Bring your own lunch; coffee, tea and cookies will be provided.
