By From page A4 | October 11, 2013

The University Airport at UC Davis will host its 11th annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The airport is at 1 Airport Road, off Hopkins Road.

The free event involves lots of aircraft, unique cars, bikes, helicopters and family fun. UCD aerospace engineering students will offer flight simulator rides and discuss their projects and research.

There will be sign-ups at the open house for a drawing for a free introductory flight courtesy of the Cal Aggie Flying Farmers. Pilots and flight instructors will be on hand, and are happy to discuss flying.

Retired NASA astronaut and UCD professor Steve Robinson’s hangar will be open for demonstrations, and food and drinks will be available.
