Winters agritour looks at greenhouse tomatoes

The Winters Chamber of Commerce will hold its third agritour of the year on Wednesday, July 17, at Tumber Farms, owned by Ravi Tumber.

Tumber Farms is off Highway 128 and grows pesticide-free beefsteak tomatoes in a greenhouse.

Participants will meet at Steady Eddy’s, 5 E. Main St. in Winters, at 9 a.m. for a beverage and pastry of choice. At 9:30 a.m. participants will be escorted by limousine to Tumber Farms where Jessica Jordon will lead guests through the greenhouse tour. After the tour, participants will have a chance to explore the walnut orchard surrounding the property.

Lunch will be served at the farm in the middle of the walnut orchard. Tumber Farm beefsteak tomatoes will be featured on the lunch menu.

After lunch participants will be taken to Berryessa Brewery, 27260 Highway 128. Participants will have an opportunity to tour the brewery and enjoy a beer tasting.
