The Woodland Opera House and Yolo County CASA are teaming up to collect suitcases for children in foster care.
During the Woodland Opera House’s run of “Inspecting Carol” through Sunday, patrons can drop off new or gently used suitcases at the Opera House. These suitcases then will be distributed to children who need them. Often, when children are removed from their home, or moved from one foster care placement to another, they don’t have a suitcase to put their belongings in. In many cases they have to take their things in a garbage bag.
The play runs at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Reserved-seat tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and students and $12 for children 18 and under. Balcony tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children. All tickets may be purchased online at www.woodlandoperahouse.org or by calling 530-666-9617.
The Woodland Opera House box office, 340 Second St. in downtown Woodland, is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m Mondays through Fridays.
