“Women Feeding the World: Farmers, Mothers and CEOs” is the title of a free event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the UC Davis Conference Center Ballroom.
It is one of the activities planned as part of the Campus Community Book Project featuring Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s book, “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.”
The event will highlight women’s global role in agriculture, food and nutrition and will include presentations by women who will share their experiences — locally and internationally — in agriculture, nutrition, leadership and motherhood.
An online photo gallery with accompanying stories that illustrate women’s contributions to food and agriculture, as well as more information about the event and the Campus Community Book Project, are available at http://occr.ucdavis.edu/ccbp2013/womenfeedingtheworld.html.
