Yard sale benefits Quilts for Kids

By From page A3 | September 11, 2013

The Davis Chapter of Quilts for Kids Inc. will hold a yard sale Saturday to raise funds for the chapter. In addition to the usual yard sale items, the group is selling fabric, sewing machines, patterns, quilt frames and other sewing supplies, as well as lots of sheet music.

The sale will run from 8 a.m. to noon at 1722 DeSoto Place in West Davis. Early birds will not be accommodated, organizers said.

Since 2008, the Davis Chapter of Quilts for Kids Inc. has donated more than 1,600 handmade quilts to local children who are seriously ill or are in traumatic situations. The group also has donated quilts internationally to orphanages and to the tsunami/earthquake victims in Japan.
