Yoga Aid Challenge is Sept. 9 in Central Park
The community is invited to a free yoga class at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, in Central Park, Fourth and C streets in downtown Davis. Donations will be accepted at the event or through Yoga Aid Challenge, a worldwide event to raise money for charity.
All of the proceeds from the Davis Yoga Aid Challenge will benefit Yoga Across America, a Sacramento-based nonprofit that provides free yoga to servicemen and women returning from war, as well as to children in schools. Last school year, it funded yoga classes for students at Pioneer Elementary in Davis.
Local teachers from FIT House, Kaya Yoga and Akasha Yoga are joining others throughout the world, hosting classes on Sept. 9. Approximately 10 teachers will lead a challenging 108 sun salutations in Central Park from 9 to 11 a.m.
