Yolo MoveOn members will meet Thursday

By From page A3 | February 26, 2013

Members of the Yolo MoveOn Council will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Blanchard Room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis. The public is invited.

National MoveOn strategy has changed in 2013 from a top-down to bottom-up approach called the Million Leader campaign. The Core members of Yolo MoveOn Council have identified four areas for focus for 2013 that will be presented.

The agenda will focus on one of the four areas, grassroots efforts to reverse and blunt the impact of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United Decision (e.g., corporations = people and money = free speech). Two local activists will speak on the topic: Mary Zhu with Public Citizen and Nancy Price with Move to Amend.

Members also will have the opportunity to meet in small discussion groups to hear ideas from all who attend. Light refreshments will be served. For information, call Rosalinda at 530-662-7693.
