Buddhists gather for Sanghafest

By
From page A4 | April 16, 2013 |

A group of local Buddhists from different traditions will host Sanghafest, an inclusive Buddhist gathering, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road. Members of all local meditation groups, individual practitioners and interested newcomers are all welcome at this free community event.

The day offers morning and afternoon meditation periods, both walking and sitting, as well as opportunity for socializing during the lunch break. Some meditation instruction will be given for those who are new to the practice.

Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch, a teacup for personal use and box of tea to share, and personal meditation cushions if possible. A limited number of cushions will be available for those without. Chairs will be provided for those who prefer them.

Participating groups include Fresh Breeze Sangha, the Davis Insight Group, Bird Path Zen Community and the Davis Shambhala Meditation Center.
