The Capital Fellows Program, recognized as a top-10 internship nationwide, welcomes applications for four programs.
The programs — which are administered by the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State University — are California Senate Fellows, Executive Fellowship Program, Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program and Judicial Administration Fellowship Program.
Vault.com voting has listed the Capital Fellows Programs in the top 10 for 2010, ’11 and ’12. It was ranked high for a combination of “meaningful work experience and career opportunities.”
These fellowships offer 10 to 11 months as a full-time paid staff member in the California Assembly, Senate, executive branch or judiciary. Fellows may participate in policymaking, program development and implementation while learning first-hand about the complexities of governing.
Prospective fellows must have a bachelor’s degree in any major by Sept. 1 and have a “demonstrated interest in state government and public service.” Individuals may apply for one or more fellowships. Recent graduates, graduate, postgraduate and mid-career applicants are welcome. The deadline is Feb. 11.
