Care planning workshop to be repeated

By From page A9 | February 10, 2013

An advanced care planning workshop that will help family members deal with future decision-making, especially emotional and financial issues, is planned for Saturday, Feb. 23, in Woodland. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Woodland Christian Church, 509 College St. Sponsoring organizations are the Yolo Adult Day Health Center, Woodland Healthcare and the church.

Each participant will receive a notebook in which to gather information to help develop a care plan for someone they care for or for themselves. The plan will include information about one’s support system; important papers and information regarding health, finances, legal concerns, housing options, reorganizing, end-of-life issues, and one’s life story; as well as resource information.

The workshop will include information, discussion and an opportunity to begin the care planning process. It will be facilitated by Peggy Phelps, caregiver resource specialist.

For more information or to sign up, contact Phelps at 530-666-8828 or [email protected]. A $20 donation for materials, supplies and lunch is requested. Space is limited.
