The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department’s Animal Services Section reminds all cat lovers that its Hot August Night special for cats and kittens ends this weekend.
“We still have very cute kittens and wonderful, loving cats in need of homes,” said Vicky Fletcher, business services manager. “Please give a shelter cat or kitten a new beginning and give yourself special companion searching for a forever home. It is a winning combination!”
Special pricing of $50 for one cat or kitten and $75 for two ends at 4 p.m. Saturday at the animal shelter, 140-C Tony Diaz Drive off East Gibson Road in Woodland. There will be an additional adoption opportunity from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Pet Extreme, 2091 Bronze Star Drive in Woodland, near Costco.
The reduced fee includes the cost of spaying or neutering, testing for FELV/FIV for cats or FELV for kittens, rabies vaccines if over 12 weeks, and FVRCP vaccines and microchips.
If you are not able to adopt a new companion, the Animal Shelter appreciates donations of liquid laundry detergent, Frontline or Advantage flea medicine, and cat-friendly toys such as balls with bells, ping-pong balls or little furry mice.
The Animal Shelter is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays with limited services. It is closed for lunch betewen 1 and 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
