Congregation Bet Haverim in Davis will present its annual celebration to mark Israel’s Independence Day from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18.
The eating and festivities will take place in the CBH Redwood Grove, 1715 Anderson Road. The event is free and open to the public.
Organized by the congregation’s Israel Matters Committee, the annual event will feature free food — falafels, salads, hot dogs and cotton candy. Kids’ attractions include Hebrew necklace making, face painting and more.
All are welcome to enjoy Klezmer (eastern European Jewish) music and Israeli dancing. Free Israeli flags and decals will be distributed.
“We invite all friends of Israel to join us to celebrate the remarkable achievements of this small country,” says George Rooks, Israel Matters chairman. “We are proud that, despite numerous challenges, Israel prospers as the democratic, diverse, economically viable national homeland of the Jewish people.”
