The Yolo County Fair will present its seventh annual Opening Night Gala, showcasing the county’s bountiful agricultural projects and produce, on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Visitors from near and far converge on the fairgrounds in Woodland to enjoy first peeks at the 2013 educational booths and exhibits, as well as the fair itself.
At the gala, set for 6 to 8 p.m. in the Agriculture Building, guests can mix and mingle with local community leaders, growers and old friends from fairs past. The gala will feature local wines, olive oils, honey, nuts, jams, meats, produce and restaurant fare, as well as performances by several local musicians.
Attendees also can see displays of the craftsmanship of friends, neighbors and students produced this year.
Tickets are $15, available at the Yolo County Fair office, 1125 East St. in Woodland. The price goes up to $20 at the gate.
