Tickets to the annual Davis Chamber of Commerce Installation Gala are on sale now, offering an opportunity to recognize incoming and outgoing Chamber leaders as well as winners of Davis’ top citizen honors.

The event will run from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at UC Davis’ Freeborn Hall and features cocktails, dinner, awards, dancing to live music.

Jennifer Nitzkowski of Carbahal & Company will be installed as chairwoman of the Chamber’s board of directors, and Gregg Herrington of The Yackzan Group will be honored as the outgoing board chair.

In addition, the Chamber gives the city of Davis the chance to publicly recognize its top citizen award-winners: Ann Evans, winner of the C.A. Covell Trophy as Citizen of the Year, and Carri and Jay Ziegler, winners of the A.G. Brinley Plaque for extraordinary service.

Evans is a co-founder of two popular community institutions — the Davis Food Co-op and the Davis Farmers Market. She also is a former mayor of Davis and an active member of the local farm-to-school movement. The Zieglers offered their expertise to Davis school district leaders to help ensure passage of five recent parcel tax measures to provide much-needed school funding.

Tickets are $100 each if purchased before Jan. 1 and $120 thereafter. All tickets are by presale, and the event typically sells out.

Sponsorship opportunities also are available, at $2,500 for a title sponsorship (event naming rights and a table of eight), $1,200 for a table of eight and $800 for a half-table of four. The sponsorship deadline is Dec. 31.

To make a reservation, call the Chamber office at 530-756-5160, visit http://bit.ly/InstallationGala2013 or email reception@davischamber.com.
