Chamber panelists examine local ag economy

A panel of local experts will discuss the local and regional agricultural business environment at the Davis Chamber of Commerce’s next community luncheon, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Davis Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. The panel will consider this question: How do we grow more jobs and create local wealth while doing our part to sustainably feed the world?

Josette Lewis, associate director of the World Food Center at UC Davis, will be the moderator. Panelists are Glenda Humiston, state director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development office; Pam Marrone, founder and CEO of Marrone Bio Innovations; and Shane Tucker, principal with Saturn Capital Partners and a walnut and almond grower in the Davis area.
