Tickets are on sale now for the Davis NewStar Chinese School’s Chinese Cultural Showcase. The production runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St.

It is a fundraiser for Team Davis, a local, all-volunteer nonprofit organization established to help enrich the lives of children and adults with developmental, cognitive and/or physical disabilities living in or near Davis.

Assemblywoman Mariko Yamada, D-Davis, and Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza will be the event’s masters of ceremonies.

School children and adults associated with Davis’ NewStar Chinese School will perform Chinese dances, orchestral music and Chinese Kongfu. In addition, many local Chinese musicians will perform.

Among them are Chiffon Fue playing the Chinese zither; NewStar teachers Davis An, Qiqi Li and Jane Zhang playing new Chinese folk music with Erhu, pipa and piano; and Team Davis singers performing “I Love Rock and Roll.”

Tickets are $10 general and $5 for students, available at Watermelon Music, 207 E St. in downtown Davis. For more information on the performance, call Ning Wan at (530) 219-4995 or Robin Dewey at (530) 753-8649.
