City leaders share budget details at public forum

By From page A3 | May 02, 2013

Community members who want to learn more about the city of Davis’ budget are invited to a free presentation by Mayor Joe Krovoza and City Manager Steve Pinkerton from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Avid Reader. The bookstore is at 617 Second St. in downtown Davis.

This is the third presentation in the store’s public policy series, “Solutions.” In this open forum, Krovoza and Pinkerton will address the city’s sources of income and expense, the costs that are fixed and those that are flexible, as well as the city’s ongoing liabilities.

They’ll also talk about the future of the city’s water needs and steps taken to encourage and support economic development.

This presentation is an opportunity for Davis residents to hear from, engage with, ask questions of and offer recommendations to local governmental decision-makers concerning city funding priorities.

In addition, other occasions for citizen input will be outlined as the City Council proceeds to deliberate upon and approve the city’s 2013-14 fiscal year budget.

Monday’s event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 530-758-4040 or visit www.avidreaderbooks.com.
