The city of Davis is hosting free water conservation workshops for all water customers.
A workshop for residential customers, “How to reduce your water use without impacting your lifestyle,” will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Hallmark Inn, 110 F St. in downtown Davis.
Another workshop for businesses owners and apartment property managers will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Sudwerk, 2001 Second St. RSVPs are not required for either workshop.
“These workshops will help customers tailor their own conservation efforts based on their individual circumstances,” says Jacques De Bra, city of Davis utilities manager.
At the workshops, Public Works Department staff members will discuss indoor water use, water-saving tools and appliances, rebate programs available, water leak loss and detection, and conservation assistance options.
The workshops also will highlight the biggest drain on water supplies — irrigation. Attendees will learn about options to conserve water outdoors through plant selection, planting techniques and irrigation schedules.
The commercial workshop will focus on conservation measures specifically for businesses.
