By From page A5 | November 03, 2013

Davis Bicycles! invites all interested local residents to its annual membership meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cafe 110 in the Hallmark Inn, 110 F St. in downtown Davis. A special guest will Brian Mickelson, the city of Davis’ newly hired transportation manager.

The featured speaker is Charlie Gandy, mobility coordinator for the city of Long Beach’s Bike Long Beach program. A nationally recognized expert in community design and bicycle and pedestrian advocacy, Gandy played a lead role in the award-winning “sharrow” experience, piloted the national protected bike lane program and collaborated to create the nation’s first bicycle-friendly business districts.

A reception will follow, with light refreshments. All are welcome. “High-fives to those who ride,” a news release said.
