Several Davis faith groups will present a free conference from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 3, titled “Climate Crisis: Putting Faith into Action.” Highlights include:
* Isabel Montanez, a UC Davis geology professor, speaking on “Climate Change Close to Home”;
* Susan Stephenson, executive director of the Interfaith Power and Light Campaign, on “Facing the Climate Crisis: Hope and Help”; and
* Four interactive workshops, on “Developing an Environmentally Sustainable Church,” “Engaging Hearts and Minds to Build Sustainable Lifestyles,” “Integrating the Care for Creation into Liturgy” and “Acting Ethically for a Planet in Peril.”
The event will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road. Clergy, leadership and members of “green” teams from faith groups as well as interested members of the public are welcome.
