The man who was struck and killed by a train Wednesday morning east of Davis has been identified as Michael Overman, 58, of Davis.

According to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, Overman was standing on the tracks east of County Roads 32A and 105 shortly after midnight when he was hit by the eastbound Amtrak passenger train, which was en route from San Jose to Sacramento.

Coroner’s officials pronounced Overman dead at the scene. His death has been ruled a suicide, but the incident remains under investigation.
