The homeless man found dead underneath a Woodland freeway overpass Monday has been identified as 61-year-old James Michael Izarelli, Yolo County coroner’s officials said.

Chief Deputy Coroner Robert LaBrash said his office has been unable to track down Izarelli’s next of kin, and urges anyone with information about his family’s whereabouts to contact his office at 530-668-5280.

Izarelli’s body was found covered in blankets at about 10:45 a.m. Monday beneath southbound Interstate 5 on the north side of East Main Street. LaBrash said it’s unclear whether the recent cold snap played a role in his death.

An autopsy to determine Izarelli’s cause and manner of death, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will take place Wednesday, LaBrash said. So far there are no signs of trauma or foul play, he added.
