Coroner’s ruling pending in Woodland death

By February 15, 2011

Yolo County coroner’s officials say they are awaiting the results of toxicology tests before ruling on the cause of death for a man whose body was found in his truck in Woodland.

Michael Kelley, 58, may have been dead inside the Dodge pickup “for over a week,” Chief Deputy Coroner Robert LaBrash said. An autopsy was conducted on Monday, and the toxicology tests are expected to take several weeks.

Kelley apparently was living out of the vehicle, which was discovered at about 1:45 p.m. Friday in a parking lot near a vacant warehouse in the 1400 block of Churchill Downs Avenue, an industrial area in northeast Woodland.

There were no signs of trauma or foul play, police and LaBrash have said.
